AIIMS-Delhi has achieved a medical milestone by performing its first dual kidney transplant. Surgeons transplanted two kidneys from a 78-year-old donor to a 51-year-old woman without removing her own failed kidneys. The recipient now has four kidneys, with both transplanted organs functioning well. This innovative surgery aims to address the organ shortage in India by utilizing organs from elderly donors.
