Cabinet approves ₹8,399 crore Delhi metro rail expansion project

The Union cabinet greenlighted the ₹8,399 crore project to expand Delhi metro lines, aiming to enhance public transport in the capital with two new corridors. The expansion will be operational by March 2026, linking Inderlok to Indraprastha and Lajpat Nagar to Saket, reducing fossil-fuel consumption and transportation expenses for residents. Total funding for the project will come from the Centre, the Delhi government, and international agencies.
