Madras High Court Allows Convict to Wear Civil Dress for Video Call Argument

The Madras High Court has allowed a convict, serving a 20-year sentence for an economic offence, to argue a case via video call wearing civilian attire. Founder of Subhiksha retail chain, R. Subramanian, filed appeals against orders to wind up Viswapriya India Limited. Despite facing criminal charges, the court refused his plea citing delay in settling dues to debenture holders.
